Project Introduction:
Set in the heart of Betul, Madhya Pradesh, India, this 3,000 sq.m. the residence by Neelesh Chopda reimagines a centrally located plot as a vibrant social and familial hub. Designed for a legacy-driven client, the project seamlessly blends community engagement with private living, elevating both lifestyle and the town’s cultural identity.
Facade Description:
The facade is conceived as a powerful public statement, articulated through two monumental arches that distinguish communal and residential realms. Clad in locally sourced stone, it subtly shifts from grey to pink, creating a dynamic, almost kinetic visual experience across the day. Up to 12 meters, the mass reads as a solid monolith, above which translucent marble panels introduce lightness and luminosity, filtering sunlight into soft, ambient interiors. Designed as a floating skin offset from the structure, it allows controlled light penetration while enhancing thermal and acoustic performance. Beyond aesthetics, the facade acts as an environmental buffer—diffusing harsh light, reducing noise, and contributing to a breathable, bungalow-like sanctuary within an urban setting.
