VORTEX is a dynamic combination of an immersive and interactive “science center”-type experience for students, families and tourists, a
thriving “think tank” where ‘resident innovators’ from a variety of fields
come to collaborate on new ideas and developments, and a Resource
center for individuals and organizations committed to exploring issues of innovation and creativity.
Arriving at VORTEX, visitors encounter an inspiring embodiment of dynamic upward-reaching movement. Upon entering into the sweeping form, they find themselves in the 5-storey skylit lobby, a large, active space featuring a retail shop and all the amenities to make their visit comfortable and enjoyable. The lobby provides access to both the Think Tank facilities located in the adjacent glass pavilion and the Innovation Experience, a series of interactive exhibit galleries twisting their way up through the main vortex shaped building.
A 200-seat auditorium on the ground floor, accessible from the
lobby, allows VORTEX to host large symposiums, award ceremonies,
performances and lectures. An adjacent café offers general visitors and program participants a relaxing atmosphere, healthy food and a view to both a landscaped courtyard and the public plaza.
