Transformation of an old building to give it new uses. A small house in Port de Pollença, VoraMar, is converted into guest quarters on the upper floors and, on the ground floor, an auxiliary apartment serving the neighbouring house. Independence is offered while fostering connectivity in the complex
as a whole.
An almost sculptural approach for the exterior and surgical precision in the interior preserves the volumes, changes the building’s essence and also its appearance. Simpler, more functional, more contemporary.
Attention to detail, subtle but significant: The privacy of the entrance, seeing without being seen. White on white and a touch of grey. The interior lighting highlights the refined geometry of the volume. Windows, openings, slats and edging set the rhythm. In an ongoing play of sightlines, the main spaces open towards the sea, drawing it into the house
