The project refers to the rich and multilayered history of Jurata. Its primary goal is to enable year-round use of the site’s qualities while maintaining close proximity to the metropolitan area of the Tri-City. The interface between the private sphere and the natural surroundings of the building is of particular importance here; this mediation constitutes the main element in shaping the architecture of the structure:
“Jurata is a unique and unrepeatable natural, historical, and cultural context. The boundary between the sea and the forest, along with its rich history and the people connected to it, is especially palpable here and defines the distinctiveness of this place. For this development, we sought solutions rooted in simplicity, yet referencing the best building traditions — we want this building to tell stories by connecting people and places.”
The core of the design is a cuboid volume that completes the intersection of Świętopełka and Ratibora streets.
Seeking the tranquil atmosphere of the forest and drawing from the proximity of the sea, a building was created in the center of Jurata, set within its distinctive natural context.
The richness of the local landscape creates an atmosphere of relaxation and rest, while its unique location between the open sea and the Bay of Puck allows one to fully enjoy the qualities of this place.
Large glazed openings combined with expansive terraces allow for a close connection with nature. The spacious balconies, designed with changing weather conditions in mind, complement the interior and make it possible to enjoy the qualities of the natural surroundings throughout the year.
For this development, we designed the shared spaces as an integral part of the building, along with three distinct apartment interior styles visually inspired by different expressions of the Baltic Sea.
