Interurban is an architectural studio founded in 2012 by Łukasz Piankowski and Weronika Juszczyk. We believe that creativity and innovation emerge at the intersection of knowledge and the opportunities offered by the contemporary world. We do not reject what is familiar; instead, we push boundaries by integrating the obvious with the unexpected. Our approach to architecture is grounded in a deep understanding of each task and in embracing the challenges it presents.
Through experiencing architecture, we deliver projects that redefine the relationship between people and place. Our buildings enhance and enable connections that provoke, question, and enrich both residents and the public realm.
“There is no such thing as a ‘typical person’ for a typical house.” – Oskar and Zofia Hansen
Each project is inevitably embedded in a distinct cultural, social, historical, and other contexts, and is designed for diverse users. Therefore, in our work we focus on seeking and implementing solutions precisely tailored to local conditions and the people who use the space. We believe that mutual trust in the client–architect relationship makes it possible to create meaningful places and, consequently, to directly contribute to improving the environment that surrounds us.
