Villa Ekros is situated in an old residential area with traditional red wooden houses and green cultivated gardens. The challenge of the new house is to find a contemporary architectural language within the strict requirements from the local municipality. The twisted shape, adapted to the site to save a few valuable trees and minimize the views between neighbors, creates new angels to the house and its pitched roof. Unexpected views and interior spaces are shaped by these angels. The staircase is situated in the middle of the house and works as a natural divider of space. The kitchen, living room together with a playroom and laundry are placed at the entrance level. Upstairs a staircase gallery with double ceiling height is created and leads to four bedrooms, bathroom and walking closet.
