Comprehensive rehabilitation of 1900 housing in the old town of Viladecavalls. Originally, the house already had ground floor, floor and cellar, all adapted to the large gap between the two streets that give access to the plot. Establishing a strong contrast with new performances, the project chooses to keep volumetry, elements or original materials with compositional interest, adapting them to the new use, and dispenses with volumes added later, with the intention to make a sober and up-to-date reading of a typical village house. Thus, the programmatic challenge consists of placing the bedroom in the plant basement, preserving the Catalan vault, and establishing the axis of traffics and baths in the center of the plant. In this way, one manages to arrange the space to his environment in the most efficient way, taking into account the dimensions of the house, and gets a contribution of natural light to the most inner parts through plant empty slabs and transparent flooring.
