Victory Wellness Center is a civic-minded building that gives the community of North Hollywood both architectural character and quality open space. The sustainable intervention manifests and augments the features of the old bowstring truss structure, by carving away from and adding to in subtle and in your face ways, creating ambiguity and integration between old and new. The new building massing articulation breaks down the scale of the existing building while a minaret-like vertical sign provides the horizontal project and context with a commanding presence that, along with the open space gives a civic dimension to the entire project.
