BAID is responsible for the design of the new corporate headquarters of the SUND Group, located on the site of the newly developed Victoria Park industrial area in Hamburg Rahlstedt. The new building complex, consisting of an office buling and a high-bay warehouse, was completed and handed over at the beginning of 2023. BAID Architects were commissioned to plan the project in mid-2017.
The classicial punched-window elevation of the building is visually enlivened by floor-by-floor varying window widths. The traditional brick masonry with deep window reveals gives the structure the necessary visual solidity to hold its own next to the volume of the volume of the high-bay warehouse.
In contrast, the warehouse's exterior features a light metal cladding, which, with its vertical emphasis, creates a design link to the adjacent office buliding while also making the structure appear light and delicate. The foyer is visually connected to its surroundings through expansive windows, while floor-to-ceiling openings ensure consistent natural light fills the office spaces.
