The Überseequartier is considered the heart of HafenCity and the Java Haus stands like a Gate Building opposite the historic Speicherstadt. The reddish-brown bricks of the facades wee a source of inspiration for the design colours of the firm. The rusted steel picks up the colour and industrial character of the district. The steel, in combination with sharp-edged white Corean surfaces, is utilised in all areas of the law firm that are open for visitors: the entrance hall, the foyer and the conference room.
