Mano de Santo has designed a single-family home that combines the personality of the owners, the program of needs and the tradition in the old town of Cofrentes, a municipality in the province of Valencia. The project has been carried out on a plot that opens to the landscape with direct views of the riverbed and the impressive natural environment, where the urban regulations and the tradition of the area have been respected, as well as the preferences and needs of the owners.
The house consists of two levels, the ground floor is intended for the main uses, where the large living / dining / kitchen, courtesy toilet, covered porch with paellero and panoramic terrace open to the landscape are located, in addition to the main bedroom with private bathroom. The first floor is intended for the independent use of the owners’ children and guests, where we find a large space of relationship that visually connects the urban core and the landscape, enveloping you in the environment, four bedrooms with bathroom.
The architectural concept is based on a clean and current volume, with straight and simple lines, that integrates with the historical environment respecting the typology and scale of the neighboring buildings. The use of noble materials, such as stone, wood and glass, brings warmth and brightness to the interior spaces, which open to the outside through large windows. The orientation and size of the facade openings have been studied to optimize the lighting and comfort of the house, avoiding overheating in summer and favoring solar capture in winter. The distribution of the house has been designed to make the most of natural light and cross ventilation, creating a pleasant and healthy environment.
The house has been projected giving special importance to the integration in the environment and the fusion of the same in the landscape. The terrace, located on the ground floor, offers privileged views of the river that runs through the municipality, creating a visual and sensory connection with nature. The constructive systems and the insulation have been chosen to guarantee the energy efficiency and comfort of the house, reducing the consumption of resources and the environmental impact.
The result is a house that respects the tradition and history of Cofrentes, but that also adapts to the demands and lifestyle of its owners.
