The extensive remodel of an existing building in San Francisco is designed to take full advantage of the extraordinary view towards the Golden Gate Bridge.
The remodel of the inside allows for a large penthouse unit on the top floors and three smaller units on the lower levels. A new circulation spine on the south property line with a main staircase and elevator optimizes efficiency and facilitate access from all five floors and the exterior parking court.
The penthouse unit on three floors is the focal point of the remodel. Floor to ceiling glass and a two-story living room space with a rooftop terrace connect inside and outside.
A new faceted glass and ceramic rain screen façade on the north and the east maximizes views and takes advantages of the steeply sloping site. This new dynamic façade gives the building a much-improved street presence on this very prominent site.
