Urørt B14 is a part of the workshop-series Trestykker (wooden pieces). The aim of Trestykker is to highlight students of architecture as a skilled and capable resource through the creation of raw, quality architecture in public space. By letting the students follow a project from the idea stage to completion, the course affords its participants the opportunity to develop hands-on skills and get valuable experience in project management, logistics and on-site construction.
Trestykker is a cooperative effort arranged by Norways three architetural faculties: Arkitektur- og designhøgskolen i Oslo (AHO), Bergen Arkitektskole (BAS) and the architecture faculty of NTNU. Pieces of Wood has been arranged with a great deal of success in Trondheim in 2004, 2005 and 2011. In 2012 the arrangement took place in Oslo for the first time.
On the 23. of July 2012, thirty students came together in Oslo to erect a small concert stage on the B14-lot. The building stands in contrast to the rest of the neighborhood, highlighting the lots position as the last remaining untouched ground in the urban planning. The result of the project is an intimate stage with possibilities for year-round usage, aiming to help launch the careers of unknown startups in Norwegian music.
