Located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, this project involved creating a new suite of spaces, including reception area, waiting room, examination rooms, doctor's offices and support facilities, for an ear, nose and throat medical practice.
The plan is organized around a circular entry foyer that opens onto a staff reception office. To one side is the waiting room, and to the other, a corridor off of which are examination and consultation rooms. The foyer, waiting room and hall are highly detailed and finished with traditional mouldings to reinforce their character as public spaces. In contrast, the examination rooms, private offices and support areas are minimally detailed spaces owing to their more intimate and utilitarian functions. Materials used throughout were selected for their durability and were limited to a color palette of black, white, gray and silver.
