What can you do in a bathroom? Read, play, relax, sing, dance, pamper yourself, watch a movie, eat, etc.
The bathroom is the private stage for our identities. A place where the different personalities who inhabit the house intersect (and sometimes meet each other), a container enriched with new functions, where continuous narratives linked to the new way of living unfold.
“UNO, NESSUNO e CENTOMILA” is an advanced, highly technological room in which a sculptural monoblock is installed. Both horizontal structures of the floors are made with modular slats that, when used on the floor, hide the heating system, water drains, the dirt collection and disposal system, and ducts that emit hot air and steam to transform the environment into a hammam. When used on the ceiling, they hide the cooling system, lighting, music diffusers, and special pipes that allow for one-third of the upper floor to turn into a massive shower that follows the user's movements.
The project is based on a technological transposition of systems already used in other areas such as pools or spas, revisited and engineered, to be integrated into residential spaces.
After passing through decantation systems and active sludge, wastewater is collected in a distribution tank, from which, thanks to a purification system (using UV deionizers, reverse osmosis processes, softeners, and appropriate filters), 60% of the water is reused for sanitary purposes and the remaining 40% for irrigation.
The walls are fully glazed and intentionally free from any additional elements, allowing for visual communication with the rest of the house and the outdoors. Privacy is ensured by a sophisticated smart glass technology that turns the windows opaque when the bathroom is used for private purposes and transforms them into large, interactive, multifunctional screens through which the user can personalize their experience.
