UNICA: Eclectic and Authentic Design Where Italian Flair Meets Bulgarian Soul
The concept is to embark on an adventure where design and shapes converge to create a space dedicated to tasting life in an unforgettable environment.
UNICA is an authentic restaurant with a heart-centered commitment to delivering exquisite, high-quality cuisine, and stands as a testament to Sofia's rich history and vibrant pulse. Nested within a magnificent seven-story residential building on a revered architectural and cultural landmark in the heart of the city, the restaurant spans the first, second, and underground levels.
Drawing inspiration from the marriage of Italian and Bulgarian cultures, UNICA's mural composition showcases the interior architectural elements and the restaurant's logo. These elements, represented as two currents in different hues and directions, converge to create a dynamic and engaging visual narrative. This visual narrative embodies the essence of this culinary haven.
Upon entering, guests are immersed in an ambiance adorned with 47 meticulously hand-painted sphere lamps, diners are transported to a realm where every detail has been thoughtfully considered.
At the heart of UNICA's identity lies the arch, an omnipresent symbol that weaves its way throughout the space, signifying unity and innovation. Yet, it is the amorphous wooden elements, affectionately called "lianas," that truly capture. These intertwining marvels serve as a visual representation of the dynamic relationship between cultures, breathing new life into Italy's culinary traditions.
Mirrors, artfully placed throughout the restaurant, add an elegant touch, imbuing the space with light and depth. Here, the verdant hues of nature and the wooden lianas intertwine in a dance of reflections, creating a truly unique and immersive experience.
Adjacent to this enticing display lies the enchanting wine room. This leads seamlessly into the first dining room where an open pizza oven infuses the air with tantalizing aromas.
Ascend to the second level and two exquisite halls await. One offers a mesmerizing view of the prominent boulevard, while the other overlooks a captivating urban landscape. The space transformation came to life through a captivating graffiti painting adorning the restaurant's facade, breathing new life into its surroundings.
