DESCRIPTION:
The intention of this project was to make structure and materials work as one in the design, to make them a form of expression.
The purpose of the structure for this project was for it to show in the tower fronts, thus the columns direct the light to the interiors, they frame the view, provide depth to the interior space and to windows as well as privacy and solar protection.
The essential aspect of the project is repetition; repetition in the structure (the distance between each column in every front is the same hence only one type of window is required) and repetition in the apartments (which would save time when its construction start).
The Turquesa Tower is an eight-level apartment building.
The main floor of the building contains amenities (lobby, pool, gym, gardens), different services, the stairs and elevators. The upper levels contain the apartments. The project has two different repetitive apartment floor plans; one with six and the other with five. The apartments are based on modulation; they can be for 2, 4 or 6 people. In addition, the tower also has two basement levels of parking lots with enough space for 76 cars. The shape in which the towers ends hides the equipment placed on the roof and provides individuality to the project.
