The West Coast New Area of Qingdao is a national-level new area with the theme of marine economic development, the project is based on the "Islands in the Sea", adopts the design concept of "taking island as shape, getting water as vein, and gathering island as cluster". The unique functional building monomers are organically linked together through roads, paving, and the corridor evolved from architecture. The building facade uses the relationship between lines and "lines and surfaces", boldly applies space and geometric structure, smooth and continuous free surface, and creates a dynamic form of architecture, forming avant-garde architectural style with relatively free form and mobility. Fiction and reality, light and heavy, fixed and flowing, fully display the scene of "water and island in complete harmony", and also create representative artworks, making an activity space full of creativity and humanistic spirit.
This project integrates art and science and technology to create a multifunctional comprehensive innovation platform. The functions of the project include incubators, workshops and famous studios, creative centers, exchange centers, apartments and dormitories, exhibition centers, etc. Referring to the building scale of similar domestic parks, and combining the actual needs of the project for creation, innovative research and development, exhibition, exchange, business incubation, etc., the functional planning is divided into five parts, namely, the art and technology integration and innovation area, the innovation research achievements transformation area, the innovation research achievements exchange area, the innovation research achievements display area, canteen & apartment and administrative office area.
