The simple box made of gray reinforced concrete is raised and floats above a recessed first floor. One side edge was lost in the design process, but a ramp is folded out to street level.
The entrance hall, storage and sanitary facilities are located at ground level. A monospace, which can serve as both an office and a gallery, is housed at ground level. The walls remain in neutral white, giving art its own space. They take a back seat as a quiet background. A glazed niche serves as an archive, but can also be used as a guest room for artists on occasion.
