Fougeron Architecture is among eight reputable San Francisco firms to participate in Stage I of the Treasure Island redevelopment project. Our office is responsible for the design of a six- story residential building on the island’s waterfront with panoramic views of the San Francisco skyline.
Working within SOM’s masterplan and D4D, Fougeron negotiated constraints relating to environmental concerns such as wind mitigation and flood safety, as well as considerations related to achieving a unified aesthetic vision for the identity of the island.
The design exhibits a unique massing and stepped interior courtyard that maximizes the natural light and bay views the housing units receive. Portals carved into the waterfront and north-facing facades connect the courtyard both to views and the streetscape.
