Traverse City Whiskey Co., located in the heart of Leelanau County, is expanding to a new location that will house the future of its distillery production, operations and retail experience. Current facilities include two locations in Traverse City and an Outpost in Ferndale, Michigan.
Breaking ground in early 2022, the new project includes the transformation of a 34,000 SF former cherry processing facility into a state of the art production, processing and distribution facility. A 10,000 SF addition will house new offices, tasting, retail and rentable space. A new roof deck will overlook outdoor tasting and gathering areas as well as the new still tower, the heart of the company’s spirit production. Curated outdoor experiences are at the core of TCWC and terraced seating areas, firepits and a perched meadow for events will overlook neighboring vineyards to the south.
A bold new public entry to the distillery will feature a long, horizontal angled canopy facilitating a true indoor/outdoor experience that embodies the values of the whiskey of the North. Visitors will experience tastings, retail, tours, events and friendly gatherings in a modern, warm and inviting atmosphere that honors the adventurous spirit of “Up North” Michigan.
