In 2008, the Township of Weehawken embarked on an extensive renovation to its neoclassical-style municipal building. The renovations included not only interior ADA renovations, but also a complete upgrade of the exterior envelope.
The building’s exterior masonry was repaired, repointed, and waterproofed to seal the facades from water infiltration. The 5,000 SF roof was replaced by a new pitched standing seam metal roof, modified bitumen with tapered insulation, and polymeric slate shingles made of recycled content.
To restore the original appearance of the building, RSC Architects (RSC) replicated the existing green patina metal roofing.
