We were commissioned by the City of Ermoupolis at Syros Island to present lighting concepts concerning the Miaouli Square, one of the most historical squares in Greece, and the biggest and certainly one of the most architecturally important Town Halls, designed by Ernest Chiller in the late 19th century. The lighting concept of the square focused on four points: a) enhancement of sitting areas, b) replacement of street lighting luminaires, c) highlighting the trees. There were developed three different proposals for the lighting of the Town Hall: a) highlighting architectural details with warm and cold white, b) highlighting the architectural details on the main entrance (central part of the facade) and the two towers (on the sides of the facades) while the rest of the facade is projected with flat color lighting and c) projecting images relevant with the unique events taking place during easter time when catholics and orthodox are celebrating together at the Miaouli Square right in front of the Town Hall (festivity lighting)
