Tower House is organized around a nine-square courtyard plan, designed to optimize views, sunlight, and fresh air from the surrounding natural landscape. Its slender volumes and white brick façade evoke the iconic lighthouses that dot Maine’s rocky coastline.
The home is anchored by two towers positioned at opposite corners—one public, one private. The taller tower contains the primary suite and guest bedroom, offering a quiet retreat with sweeping views of the Gulf of Maine. The smaller tower features a double-height living area, fostering a light-filled, open atmosphere ideal for gathering and relaxation.
The design emphasizes indoor-outdoor connections throughout. Public and private zones are equal in size and linked by a series of patios and a rooftop deck, blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior. In warmer months, these open-air spaces effectively double the home's footprint. A pool extends the sight-lines toward the ocean, bringing the sensory experience of the water closer to daily life. Perched at the top of the tallest tower, the bedroom provides a tranquil vantage point framed by horizon views.
The exterior material palette accentuates the home's tripartite organization. Large-scale white brick wraps the tall tower, medium bricks enclose the central living zone, and finely detailed brickwork defines the smaller tower. Inside, a soothing palette of warm wood, cool concrete, and soft white tones amplifies natural light and supports a calm, atmospheric interior.
