The new owners of this 4,000sf historically registered Society Hill rowhouse- a university history professor and a fine wood craftsman- worked with BluPath to update and improve the house’s layout and function, building envelope and mechanical systems while preserving the historic character inside and out. Design work at the 1787 main block was minor, with complete modernization and renovation of 1800s rear addition and adjacent garden.
BluPath coordinated the zoning, historic and building permit submissions; the project includes roof mounted photovoltaic panels, the first in Society Hill to receive approval from the Philadelphia Historical Commission.
