Located in a prestigious Mumbai neighbourhood, this duplex residence was designed for a young couple seeking a home that reflected their sophisticated lifestyle while prioritizing functionality and long-term durability. Both well-traveled and discerning, they envisioned a space that would be both contemporary and timeless, serving as a true extension of their personalities. Presented in a raw, unfinished state, the project offered a unique opportunity to create a carefully curated home that would evolve with the couple’s needs over time.
The design began with the concept of an open, interconnected space, which was achieved through the introduction of a floating staircase made of beige travertine and Burberry beige marble—an architectural feature that links the two levels while maintaining a sense of airiness and fluidity. The material palette, which includes neutral tones of marble and wood, was selected for both its elegance and practical longevity, ensuring the space would stand the test of time while remaining stylish and versatile.
The main living and dining areas were designed for comfort and social connection, with customized furniture, a bespoke amber chandelier, and an inviting atmosphere that promotes interaction. The open-plan kitchen, flooded with natural light through double fenestration, serves as the heart of the home, fostering both culinary creativity and a seamless connection to the outdoors.
In the private spaces, the master suite and study were designed as tranquil retreats. The study, with its warm wooden floors, leather-clad cabinetry, and strategically placed mirrors, offers a refined space for both work and leisure, while the master bathroom, featuring a floating basin counter in dark Armani brown marble, provides a striking blend of modern design and functional luxury.
Throughout the home, each element was designed to be both beautiful and purposeful. Bespoke details, such as the oversized amber light pendants in the powder room and integrated storage solutions, ensured that the space was not only visually striking but also practical and efficient. The final design of Timeless Abode is a sophisticated, enduring home that aligns with the couple’s vision, offering them a space that is as functional as it is visually compelling, and one that will continue to serve them for years to come.
