La Nucia is a littoral population that is connected with Benidorm but it has an opposed urban development because of its dispersed low-density urbanisations. Neighbourhood relations are diffuse and often antagonistic in these growths. In an attempt to provide these neo-rural developments with community services in order to improve neighbourhood relations, the municipality has promoted the creation of a network of self-managed social centres by residents, looking for a rural neighbourhood with a municipal services supply able to create a continuous cultural offer without involving high maintenance
costs.
Situated in a smallholding on a slope, the proposal resolves, through a resounding cantilevered volume, the
community program. The project is configured as a big box beam that emerges from the natural bank, where the building allows multiple programmatic layouts and scenarios of representation at different levels. We place the square on the roof, a viewpoint which focuses the interest towards the distant horizon, it is a place of relaxation and contemplation. Inside the volume there is a large events room and other smaller work rooms. Under it, we can find a new scenario linked with the lower gardens, with a spacious square where doing outdoor activities.
