Transparent house

The tessellated house

Innsbruck-Land District, Tyrol, Austria

STATUS
Built
YEAR
2020
The storey addition in Sistrans is right next to a noisy road. To prevent the noise of the road the planners had to find an intelligent way of avoiding that disturbing factor. In addition the builder-owner wanted to integrate a generous terrace to support a living in line with nature.

The realization of the project was focused on the north-westside of the house. That is where the generous terrace, balcony and a big window are located - to provide lots of light and sun. The shifted windows on the eastside of the building give the house a tessellated look.
