The restaurant Romediwirt is located in a picturesque setting, overlooking the Inn Valley from an altitude of around 800m, next-door to the Romedius Church, which is a popular destination for pilgrims and hikers. The restaurant is in close vicinity to Thaur’s castle ruins, providing a special historical sense to this place. Correspondingly, the new construction had to be integrated carefully into this particular context to enrich the vibrant atmosphere and the idyllic scenery by a cozy tavern.
In the planning, care was taken to ensure that the new building’s appearance is subtle and reflects the architectural style of the village. The architecture had to be embedded harmoniously into its environment. Accordingly, the restaurant was constructed with natural resources stemming from this area – such as larch wood and natural stone – and demonstrates a timeless flair.
The building also features a separate exhibition room. Visitors can learn about the historic development of the settlements in this area and admire an exhibition of the alpine conversation area Karwendel. The unusual combination of tavern and showroom promotes social interaction in a comfy atmosphere while familiarizing guests with the treasures of the environment.
