Located in downtown Indianapolis, Stutz is a 400,000 SF factory building initially home to Stutz Motor Company. S9 Architecture has developed a master plan envisioning the re-purposed Stutz as a public anchor stitching downtown, Indiana University Health campus, and the canal -- a social hub triggering future neighborhood development.
Through strategic programming and architectural interventions that respect and complement the industrial character of the building, this historic landmark is transformed into an authentic center consisting of 240,000 SF of office space above a unique network of public alleyways activated by diverse businesses and retail tenants. Five four-story concrete-frame buildings are connected with bridges offering flexibility to various tenant sizes, while the sawtooth building hosts a lounge and a car museum dedicated to the legacy of Stutz alongside premium office space. Ground floor and courtyards are programmed with a variety of restaurants, retail, services, and locally curated uses as both amenity and neighborhood node.
