1. The project aims to provide shelter for the Peking-Man Cave in Zhoukoudian Archaeological Site from the invasion of water and wind.
2. Ecological passive design methods should be applied to reduce the amplitude of temperature and humidity.
3. A semi-closed structure could be adopted to maintain the natural condition of Peking-Man Cave, as a buffering space that prevents the protective damage caused by uncertainty.
4. The project provides a space for the observation and study on the Peking Man cave. It demonstrates the value and contributes to the protection of the Zhoukoudian site.
5. The newly built protective structure, which is environmentally relevant, is designed to blend into its immediate surroundings.
6. The Conservation Plan of Zhoukoudian Archaeological Site is implemented during the project, a series of regulation of World Heritage Conservation shall be followed, in order to enhance heritage protection. Preserving authenticity and integrity of the site and inherit its heritage values with a more scientific and efficient way.
