At COOOP, our approach to designing The Onyx project in Dubai, UAE, was deeply rooted in understanding human behaviour within the built environment. We meticulously crafted every aspect of the development to cater to the diverse needs and preferences of its occupants and visitors.
For the Hotel Tower, we focused on creating inviting and comfortable spaces that promote relaxation and rejuvenation, recognizing the importance of tranquillity and luxury for guests. From the layout of guest rooms to the design of communal areas, every detail was thoughtfully considered to enhance the overall guest experience.
Similarly, for the Office Towers, we prioritized functionality, productivity, and connectivity. Our design incorporated efficient floor plans, ample natural light, and state-of-the-art technology infrastructure to support modern work practices and encourage collaboration among tenants. We also paid close attention to factors such as acoustics, lighting, and air quality to foster a productive and inspiring work environment.
Throughout the entire development, safety and sustainability were integral considerations. We implemented cutting-edge fire and safety systems, energy-efficient MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) solutions, and robust IT and telecommunications infrastructure to ensure the well-being of occupants while minimizing environmental impact.
Furthermore, our vertical transportation study addressed the logistical challenges of moving people efficiently within the complex, optimizing elevator and escalator systems for smooth and convenient access to different levels.
In summary, our design for The Onyx went beyond aesthetics to encompass the intricate interplay between architecture, human behaviour, and functionality. By understanding and integrating these elements, we created a vibrant mixed-use development that not only stands as a testament to architectural innovation but also enhances the daily experiences of those who live, work, and visit Dubai's dynamic urban landscape.
