The office buildings for Texas Construction Company were designed to fulfill our client’s extensive programmatic requirements while creating an environment that speaks to the quality of design and construction of their residential portfolio.
The main office space, with its steep roof of corrugated metal and perforated awnings, is supported by steel joists and brackets, offering much needed shade for the tall windows on this west-facing façade. The interior is understated, filled with natural light and expansive due to the exposed wood trusses which were clear coated leaving a natural finish. Exposing the manufactured trusses not only adds warmth to the space but expresses and reveals the construction process, fitting for the offices of a builder.
The other structures form an L-shaped plan that are connected by outdoor circulation elements. This breaks up the massing and helps to define additional program. These structures take on a more utilitarian aesthetic with their walls and roofs of corrugated metal as opposed to the stacked bond brick veneer of the main office.
