I
think that the Temple could be built in any city of the world. It is
both a symbol of our time and a symbol of the era. It is out of
politics, religion, ideology, and even out of culture of the location,
and at the same time it brings together all the above-mentioned concepts
as it is a public place.
People,
both locals and visitors, come here for a walk, to meet and admire the
views. Temple is not a monument to someone or something, but the
monument meaning ‘memory’ - memory of the city, event, date, reunion,
joy, sadness, beauty of the dawn and the sunset. This is the first
component of my idea-initiative.
The
main construction material of the Temple is reinforced concrete, which
opened new, almost unlimited opportunities in construction when it came
to use in the past century. Its rigid spacious perfectly executed
construction is beautiful in itself. And it gets even more beautiful
when lined with a mosaic of non-ferrous alloys! Here we come to the second important component of my idea-suggestion.
Desire
by human beings to leave inscriptions on rocks, walls, tree trunks is
ineradicable, as it is deeply rooted in the history of mankind (rock
paintings of ancient people). This is both a wish to leave one’s name
for descendants and kind of adrenalin passion to do something which is
not permitted, but very much wanted.
With
this idea I offer a good solution for desire to immortalize person’s
name in the places he visited. Each mosaic module plate is engraved with
the name and country of residence of a person who personally or by
internet has made this order paying 10-15 $. From now on his name is
forever fixed to the wall of the Temple. Plates with names of people
from different countries, faiths and political views peacefully exist in
the Temple of Peace. And this is great!
The
financial component of this idea is also attractive. Costs of 10% of
name plates would recoup costs of the Temple construction in full. Costs
of next 20% would cover maintenance of the Temple with remaining 70%
being net profit of the city where the temple is built, or the company
which implemented this project.
So, we are building for the people with people’s direct participation.
