Tekoá Residence emerges as a sensitive exercise in reading the land and translating the landscape into architecture. Set on a sloped site, the house presents itself with lightness and intention, balancing volumes, solids and voids in a composition that invites movement and discovery. The project adopts a welcoming yet sophisticated language, in which natural materiality, lush landscaping and generous spaces shape a playful atmosphere without relinquishing the elegance and formality intrinsic to a contemporary residence.
The volumetric layout is organized through a clear gesture: an “L” shape that fits into the terrain and engages directly with the site’s topography. The ground floor is conceived as a volume perpendicular to the street, while the upper floor rests and overlaps it, arranged both parallel and perpendicular, reinforcing the implantation strategy. This approach allows for a dynamic reading of the building while creating protected, well-defined outdoor areas that enhance the dialogue between architecture, land and landscape.
Access to the plot occurs at ground level, aligned with the street, ensuring a direct and fluid arrival. This floor accommodates the private program, designed to offer comfort, privacy and tranquility. The five suites, including the master suite, are arranged in a functional manner, with carefully framed views and circulation that privileges calm and silence, reinforcing the intimate character of this level of the residence.
The upper floor, in turn, reveals itself as the home’s primary social and gathering space. External access is provided by a landscaped stair that leads directly to the leisure area, establishing a gentle transition between outdoors and indoors. This level concentrates the collective spaces—gourmet area, living and dining rooms, office, playroom, home theater, kitchen, service areas, sauna and massage room—all articulated in an integrated layout with direct connections to the pool and spa, promoting a continuous experience between interior spaces and the surrounding landscape.
Architectural materiality asserts itself with both personality and coherence. Moledo stone walls define the main edges of the site, anchoring the house to the ground. The wooden deck surrounding the pool strengthens the relationship with leisure and outdoor living, while the wooden ceiling with pronounced horizontal eaves introduces rhythm and shade to the volumes. Dark brown slatted aluminum panels serve as the primary enclosure on all façades, ensuring visual unity, solar control and privacy.
The interior design project reinforces this openness to the surroundings through layouts oriented toward the views, allowing the landscape to become part of everyday life. Contemporary furniture—highlighted by signed Brazilian designs—dialogues with a palette of natural materials such as leather, linen and wood. Delicate fabrics contrast with deeper wood tones, while organic lines, rounded edges and light colors convey softness, visual comfort and a constant sense of warmth.
Landscape design plays a fundamental role in the project’s narrative. The use of tropical plants intensifies the contrast between vibrant greenery and the sober tones of the architecture, creating a rich and sensorial composition. Large shrub masses define the arrival sequence, while palm trees act as vertical focal points, marking the façade and reinforcing its presence. Of particular note, an olive tree positioned directly in front of the residence symbolizes permanence, time and contemplation, becoming an emotional and visual landmark of Tekoá Residence.
