The GM House was designed for a young family on a uniquely characterized plot, distinguished by its intriguing topography. Taking advantage of a slope that opens up to a stunning view, the house fits harmoniously into its surroundings, lying horizontally along the natural curves of the terrain.
Situated slightly below street level, the residence has a single access point on a continuous plateau, where a void between the social and private blocks marks the main entrance. A wide central span, covered by a floating metal structure, connects and unifies the residence.
The composition of the volumes—both social and private—beneath the expansive metal roof emphasizes the horizontal nature of the design. Natural materials such as brick, stone, and warm-toned wood are paired with aluminum panels, striking a balance between aesthetics and warmth.
Perforated elements and cutouts in the roof allow for the creation of gardens and terraces, reinforcing the integration between the home and the landscape. As such, the residence stands as a harmonious fusion of architecture and nature.
