Tamarack Farms is a three 390 acre working farm in Northumberland County, Ontario Canada. It is working farm of rehabilitated land that had been fallow for more than half a century.
The farm philosophy is a deep and uncompromising respect for the land and the treatment of the animals. Every aspect of the farm reflects this commitment to responsible and ethical stewardship. Tamarack farms follows a traditional, mixed farming model, respecting the inter-relationship between raising livestock on pasture, growing heirloom produce, herbs and edible flowers, and making maple syrup in old growth woodlots, and respecting wetlands.
The Guesthouse is situated on top a natural drumlin and gives way to panoramic views of the Northumberland landscape. The house provides an authentic agrarian experience with provisions directly from the farm.
The horizontal lines of the new Guesthouse extends the visitor’s view outwardly. Architecturally, the house is connected directly with the landscape; rooms access the grounds directly. The arrival courtyard and surrounding exterior spaces give you a feeling of an old English farmhouse and the experience contains features you would expect culinary-wise as all the food and provisions for guests are provided by the farm.
