Mark worked with Schuchart\Dow Construction on this condominium renovation in the Continental Place tower in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle. In addition to serving as a backdrop for the owners’ art collection, the design altered the original kitchen and living/dining spaces to create a more contemporary use of space and provide better access to the enviable views while cooking. The simple material palette embraced oak and walnut woods in varied locations, and subtle neutral textures and tones to become a backdrop to specific art pieces. Casework in the kitchen and dining room, as well as the custom fossil cabinet for the owner’s private collection, were crafted by Stusser Woodworks, and the bell hanger in the entry was a collaboration between Upward Architecture and FivePlyDesign.
