St Paul's House is an existing masonry building in the heart of the City of London, which was formerly occupied by the offices of the publishers Hodder and Staughton. Ben Adams Architects designed a number of alterations and additions to the building exterior – a dramatic new double height glazed entrance portal, a fully glazed sixth floor extension, large open plan floor plates and enlarged window openings to its main façade.
The project works sympathetically with the fabric of the existing building. A number of dramatic interventions provide 8 floors of category A office space, common areas – defined by high quality, elegant materials - and modernised services. These qualities have been rewarded by St Paul’s House being shortlisted for the BCO Awards 2013.
