Southampton Village Police Department & Justice Center

Southampton, NY, United States

YEAR
2002
SIZE
10,000 sqft - 25,000 sqft
The Southampton Village Police Department & Justice Center is a 19,000 square foot facility that was completed in Spring 2002. The facility includes all of the modern amenities for a fully functioning police station including a secure sally port, holding cells, communication center, training and locker rooms, offices, public meeting rooms, and a village court. The facility makes references to many vernacular architectural details without any literal interpretations. Communication antennas were placed as architectural elements on the roof, instead of utilizing a communications tower. The “widow’s walk” provides a safe and convenient method to inspect and service rooftop equipment. This building also features an energy efficient geothermal heating/cooling system. Separation of public, private and secure spaces ensures a safe and comfortable facility for the inhabitants.
