At the LHSA+DP redesigned Sony Wonder Technology Lab, visitors log in to a four story experience located at Sony Corporation’s Manhattan headquarters. The experience begins when visitors join a digital community by creating profiles that link to swipe cards. Translated into pulses of colorful light, the profiles journey with visitors as they explore the Lab’s seamlessly integrated spaces, whose continuous architecture of folded forms reflects technology’s infusion in our lives. Using their swipe cards, visitors personalize interactions that blur boundaries between virtual and actual worlds. Whether programming robots, performing virtual surgery or sending manipulated portraits as signals, visitors creatively network through technologies that increasingly connect us.
