SOLNE is a beauty clinic located in a luxury high-rise building in the heart of Bangkok. SOLNE's brand concept is derived from the Korean word "SON", which means "hand," to represent the concept of handmade, crafting products and services with care. To emphasize the true beauty of humans, with no perfect stereotype but with each individual’s definition of beauty, the concept of variation and uniqueness is mainly used in the design.
Since one of the uniqueness of the human race is their skin tone, it is used as the main concept for overall mood and tone. The main color and materials used are mixtures of different skin colors and skin textures, such as different shades of white to brown stucco on the main wall and white to brown grains of sand wash on the reception and lobby walls, like color pigment on human skin, which is various but harmonic. Innovative and hygiene materials like glass and stainless steel are also used here to keep the medication standard, mostly in the sterile area, as well as to add a little contrast to the natural material. Furniture is chosen for its natural freeform and outstanding design; each piece has its own characteristics, just like we do as humans.
The interior space is divided into two areas. The first part is public area, which includes reception, consult room, waiting area and vitamin dripping room. This area is designed with natural-like materials and comfortable furniture because the owner wants this beauty clinic to feel more like a spa, a place to receive treatment in a relaxing environment, rather than a typical medical clinic. The waiting area or lobby is situated closer to the building’s window for the clients to see the outside while waiting, and this window also allows natural light to get through curtain dividers for each area.
The second part is a more private area, including examination rooms, treatment rooms, and an operation room. Clean and modern designs are used in this area, with a solid wall to maintain privacy and hygiene. The clients will experience a transition from an open space with natural lighting, through a dark and narrow corridor, to the destination room, which gets brighter again with warm but artificial lights and is full of new materials. The materials used still contain natural elements, such as stone patterns, but on high-gloss tiles on the walls. However, to meet the more hygienic need, the new industrial materials are used, for example, in the operation room, which is covered with medical-grade seamless wall and floor finishing.
