DXA studio Partner, Wayne Norbeck, with TEN Arquitectos.
The project is a renovation of an existing 4,500 sf loft in Soho that was devastated
by a fire. The new project provides a clean, white, minimal space that allows the subtle historic features of the building to have their own presence within the new intervention. A shaded roof-top glass box was added to replace a previously existing greenhouse. The glass box sits on an ipe wood deck that is designed to create a private zone on the roof. The deck folds up to make screen walls and an extended bench that incorporates vegetation.
