Indissoluble designs and produces the Visitor Center for SM18, a 750 m2 building where large magnets and radiofrequency cavities are tested and validated, to be later used in the collider’s ring. Additionally, in this CERN department, essential work is carried out with cryogenics to ensure the superconductivity of the particle accelerator.
The main objective of this Visitor Center is to bring the public closer to the work carried out by CERN scientists in an enjoyable and interactive manner. The exhibition is located inside the SM18 building, but separated from the working area by a transparent glass. Two infra-red frames attached to the glass allow the activation and control of all the multimedia content in the room. Large vertical screens transport virtually visitors into the interior of the hall, showcasing the daily work that takes place in these facilities.
The exhibition is complemented by an audiovisual, written and directed by Indissoluble, explaining superconductivity, and a display of real objects and superconducting materials used at CERN to study particle collisions and the origin of the universe.
