"Sky Concert Hall" is located at the top of the mountain at an altitude of 1,430 meters above sea level in the Liuchun Lake Scenic Area, as a symbol at the end of the 8.5-kilometer ridge plank road, it is the visual focus and psychological end point of the entire trail. The alpine rhododendrons here are famous, and the shape of the observation deck is derived from the rhododendron leaves, and like a flat boat, expressed in a simple and constructed way, rational and romantic. The building was carefully selected to avoid rhododendron bushes, and the large cantilevered structure was used to reduce the contact area and reduce the excavation of the mountain. Boarding the roof platform is like boarding a boat, looking at the sea of flowers in spring, the forest sea in summer, the sea of clouds in autumn, and the sea of snow in winter. The lower wooden deck is a place where visitors can rest or hold small gatherings, where they can listen to the harmony of nature, which is why the observation deck is named Sky Concert Hall.
The main structural material of the observation deck is southern pine anticorrosive glulam with strength grade TCT32. The 13-metre timber structure has a large cantilever shape that conforms to the stress characteristics, and the hollowing treatment helps to reduce wind pressure and snow load. The biggest challenge of the project came from the difficult transportation and construction conditions at the top of the mountain, and the dimensions and construction methods of the components were fully considered in the design.
After completion, the Sky Concert Hall is very popular and has become an excellent place for visitors to enjoy the beauty of the four seasons and dialogue with nature.
