Located on the Santa Elena Peninsula in Ecuador, Aura Bay Luxury Residences showroom is conceived as a composition of pure volumes that engage with the tropical coastal landscape through a restrained, horizontal, and timeless architectural language. Oriented toward the northwest, the project carefully responds to the site’s climatic conditions, maximizing natural light while controlling solar exposure through generous overhangs, recessed planes, and a volumetric composition that creates deep shadows and enhances environmental comfort.
The architectural proposal is defined by clean orthogonal geometries that emphasize horizontality and frame views toward the surrounding natural landscape. Materiality reinforces this intention: walls clad in natural stone in warm sand tones evoke the textures of the coastal environment while providing thermal mass, whereas expansive glazed surfaces establish a seamless relationship between interior and exterior spaces, maximizing daylight penetration and dissolving spatial boundaries. Dark metal framing contrasts with the mineral warmth of the stone, introducing visual precision and lightness to the composition.
Existing and proposed tropical vegetation is integrated as an essential component of the architectural experience, softening the overall composition and creating microclimates that enhance ventilation and outdoor comfort. Beyond a formal gesture, the project seeks to create a spatial experience deeply attuned to its context—where light, shadow, texture, and landscape converge to deliver a serene architecture intrinsically connected to the identity of Ecuador’s coastal setting.
