As guests enter the showroom from the elevator bank they are greeted by the lobby’s walnut and blackened steel panels with integrated signage. The lobby leads to the open entrance of the showroom, highlighted by light streaming through the windows of two entire sides of the third floor space.
Low library shelving subtly defines the public corridor, separating it from the open office plan. The shelving displays Shaw’s most recent product catalogues and doubles as a work surface and impromptu meeting spot for staff and clients.
On the other side of the corridor, full height walnut millwork organized into drawers and shelves displays Shaw’s latest trends and provides additional storage space.
From the corridor, visitors enter the open meeting and showroom spaces. A café featuring rich woods and dark granite in front of an existing reclaimed brick wall provides the backdrop on one side of the meeting space, while the Union Square view creates two lush window walls of classic New York architecture. Two meeting spaces with carefully designed tables and chairs are located next to the showroom space. These are supplemented by a series of working-height tables that can be moved around the showroom to meet different needs.
A lounge area with a playful swing chair takes full advantage of the Union Square view and is sure to be the hit of any Shaw function.
The few walls that exist on the floor enclose a storage space, intended to facilitate staff organization. It is also designed and detailed as a showcase for Shaw products, which can be appreciated on the way to the restrooms, also located in the back of house space.
