This new fire station is located in an area of Shakopee that will serve the growing city and new residential area. The facility was designed as a "prototype" model for future projects as the city continues to develop and grow into one of the larger outer suburbs of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Twin City Area.

The station is situated at the edge of a newer park development, providing a civic anchor for the community area.
