On a spacious corner lot, the residence unfolds delicately in an "L" shape, softening the natural slope of the terrain. This solution allows the house to flow seamlessly, despite the two-story volume, standing out with its facade that blends exposed concrete, stone, and brownish panels. The horizontal lines are emphasized, even with the unique volume custom-tailored to the triangular plot.
With the intention of appearing to float on the lot, the building's form was sculpted to allow the ends to project dramatically, especially toward the back of the lot where the slope is steeper. In this way, the void created by the positioning of the gourmet area enhances the lightness of the volume, crowned by long metal eaves that taper at the edges and also protect all the house's openings from sun exposure and rain.
The upper floor also achieves a sense of lightness through an expansive glass plane that, in harmony with the landscaping, provides visual fluidity for the front facade while the landscaping ensures privacy. Vertical brise-soleils introduce a rhythm that enriches the architecture. The entryway, camouflaged by slatted panels and surrounded by dense landscaping, creates an intimate and welcoming path.
Internally, natural light enters the space in various ways, highlighting the light tones of the furniture and walls. On the exterior, the composition of stone and wood contrasts beautifully with the metal panels of the upper floor.
A strong connection to the landscape defines the design. On one side of the "L," social areas, the gourmet space, and service rooms are grouped, forming the core of the layout. On the perpendicular side, which houses the main entrance, are the living room, dining room harmonized with the wine cellar, home theatre, and two suites, creating a continuous connection between social and private spaces.
On the upper floor, the master suite extends to a large terrace overlooking the landscape, while three additional suites and a mezzanine lounge complete the floor.
This project reflects a refined elegance and subtle delicacy, with a harmonious interplay of tones and materials that intertwine with precision. The residence is not just a living space but a manifestation where the interaction between space, light, and nature results in a visually striking and functionally fluid architecture.
