The project in collaboration with Micaela De Bernardi.stands out for its contemporary and functional design. Distributed across two levels, this apartment transcends the idea of a simple home to become a space conceived to reflect the spirit of a large family, creating a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere where lasting memories are made.
Upon entering, a warm vestibule clad in wood paneling establishes a dialogue with the surrounding nature. A Tundra Grey marble volume, functioning as a dividing element, becomes the heart of the living area by incorporating a fireplace. This space combines materials such as caramel-toned natural leather, black marble, and gray and green textiles, encapsulating a seamless fusion between interior and exterior.
The apartment’s layout encourages fluid social interaction. The living and dining areas, separated by a planter, are complemented by two custom-designed bookshelves created to preserve family memories. Expansive windows visually integrate the garden, creating a continuous connection between indoors and outdoors. This open design not only maximizes natural light, but also offers spectacular forest views. Sunsets become a magical spectacle, with shifting shadows and tones reflected on the white oak finishes.
The project includes two guest bathrooms, responding to the family’s active social life. A family room is located on the ground floor, while the private vestibule connects the primary bedroom with the children’s rooms. These spaces are designed as serene retreats.
At the rear, another family room and the kitchen become the center of daily family life. As a sculptural element, the staircase connecting both levels adds an artistic and distinctive touch to the home. On the upper floor, a study opens onto two additional bedrooms, while the laundry and service areas are discreetly positioned, respecting the overall aesthetic of the design.
The project also stands out for its automated technology and commitment to sustainability, incorporating wood sourced from sustainable forests in Denmark.
This apartment not only represents a space designed to foster social and family life, but also responds innovatively to the current challenges of architecture in urban contexts. Ultimately, it is a retreat that invites reflection on the role of architecture in creating homes that combine aesthetics, functionality, and environmental awareness.
